Mitzi wakes the next morning feeling giddy and playful.  She celebrates her fun mood by making herself some silly gummy bear pancakes.

Mitzi is halfway through her breakfast when her phone rings…

Mitzi:  Hello… Yes, It’s me.  Hey Ray!… What?… Why not just come to the house?…Yes, OK, I’ll come to you!… OK, see you in a few.

Mitzi jogs the short distance to where Ray is waiting for her.

Mitzi:  You know you could’ve just came to my house, right?

Raymond:  I couldn’t just show up.  I figured if you want me to see your place, you’d invite me yourself.

Mitzi:  What are you, a vampire or something?

Raymond:  *chuckles* You know what I mean.  I’m trying to be a gentleman.

Mitzi:  Well, I appreciate that!  Follow me…

Mitzi and Ray walk to her house and Mitzi invites him in.

Raymond:  *looks around*  This is a very nice place.

Mitzi:  Thank you!  I’m glad to see you today.  What brings you to my neck of the woods?

Raymond:  You of course.  I wanted to make sure we were still cool after yesterday.

Mitzi:  Well… your text helped a lot. Please, have a seat…

Raymond:  I’m glad my text helped… I’m sorry for overreacting in the first place.

Mitzi:  It was an odd thing for me to just burst out saying out of the blue.  Especially because we were in the middle of a serious conversation.

Raymond:  Not that serious.

Mitzi:  Serious enough.  *rapid rambling* I don’t know what came over me.  We’re sitting there talking and it’s like I can’t control my mouth.  I guess I was feeling very close to you at the moment and I couldn’t hold it in.  Trying to was like trying to contain this big expanding balloon and if I didn’t relieve some of the pressure, it would’ve burst.  Next thing I know… I’ve said it and… and now I’m talking too much.  I’ll just be quiet now.

Raymond:  But, I like listening to you talk.  Everything you say is so expressive… I like that.

Mitzi:  Oh *suddenly at a loss for words*

Mitzi stands up suddenly.

Mitzi:  Oh God… that smell!

Raymond: Is it me?  I took a shower before I came here.

Mitzi:  No… not you.  I didn’t get a chance to clean before you got here and I can smell my dirty trash.  I guess you can say I’m a bit of a neat freak and the thought of it is driving me crazy.

Raymond:  I can take care of that for you! *stands and grabs the trash*

Mitzi:  Thank you!

Raymond goes outside and empties Mitzi’s trash.

Mitzi is waiting on the couch when Ray re-enters the house.  He sits down next to her.

Mitzi:  Can we continue our conversation from yesterday?

Raymond:  Sure… you were asking why I was still single, right?

Mitzi:  Yes

Raymond:  Truth is… I’ve never met anyone who I felt compatible with.  Either she couldn’t stand my faults or I couldn’t stand hers.  What about you?

Mitzi:  The same sort of thing basically.  I was just never willing to compromise the things I wanted just to be with someone.

Raymond:  *scoots in closer and places hand on Mitzi’s lap* And you shouldn’t have to.

Mitzi:  Then there are the guys that pretend to be what I’m looking for, just to get next to me.  *looks into Ray’s eyes*  Somehow it feels different with you.  You haven’t tried to hide who you are.  You seem so real.

Raymond:  That’s because I feel that I can be myself with you.

Feeling daring, Mitzi leans in and whispers some very sensual things into Ray’s ear.

Raymond:  Do you think maybe it’s too soon for that?

Mitzi:  Yes, no… I don’t know.  Who’s to say when anything is too soon?

Raymond:  I want you to take some time to think about it. Last thing I want is for us to take things too far and you begin to feel different about it.

Mitzi:  *sigh*  Maybe you’re right.

Raymond:  I’ll go or there’s no way *sigh*… see you later?

Mitzi:  Yeah… I have to be at work anyway.  Text me later.

Raymond walks out the door and Mitzi once again wants to kick herself for being so forward.

Mitzi goes into her office to attempt to write a few jokes, but her doorbell rings ten minutes later.  It’s Ray…

Raymond:  *pulls Mitzi into a hug*  I’m sorry for leaving like that.

Mitzi:  It’s okay.

Raymond:  No it’s not.  It’s a repeat of yesterday.  You let me know what you want and I get scared away.  I like you… a lot and I don’t want our relationship to be like that.

Mitzi:  Did I hear you say ‘relationship’ just now?  Are we in a relationship Ray?

Raymond:  Eh…well, I’d like to be, if you’ll have me.

Ray stands up to leave.

Mitzi:  You don’t have to leave.

Raymond:  You have to get to work.

Mitzi:  Work can wait *leans over and kisses Ray on the lips*

Raymond:  Wow… so, does that mean-

Mitzi:  I’d love to be in a relationship with you.

Raymond:  Good *kisses Mitzi*

One kiss leads to many more and Mitzi decides that being a few hours late for work is worth it.

Mitzi gets out of bed…

Mitzi:  Well damn… I guess that’s the answer to my question.  I don’t know if I’ll be able to work after that.

Raymond:  *laughs*  You are a mess woman!

Ray gets dressed and Mitzi walks over to give him a kiss on the cheek.

Mitzi:  I have to get ready for work… if they haven’t fired me already.  But I’d love it if you were still here when I got back.

Raymond:  I just might be.

Mitzi:  Good!

Ray makes himself comfortable while Mitzi works.  A few hours later, she returns; happy to see that Ray is still there.  Mitzi sits down next to him.

Mitzi:  Just so you know… you’re welcome to stay the night.

Raymond:  OK… I’ll just text my sister real quick so she won’t worry.

Mitzi grabs a quick snack and when she gets ready for bed, Ray is already there.  Mitzi watches for a few moments while he sleeps.  Just a few days ago, she was afraid that she’d be alone, searching for love, for a long time. And now, here she is with a good guy who has already begun to work his way into her heart.
