Danielle:  *looks at the ground*  So you expect me to lay on the ground… and watch clouds with you?

Trent:  You’re not afraid to get a little dirty are you?

Danielle:  No… I just… okay, let’s cloud watch.

Danielle:  So what am I supposed to be looking for?

Trent:  Anything you can imagine.  Like that cloud there… doesn’t it look a little like a teddy bear?

Danielle:  Oh yeah… oh my gosh, it does!

Trent:  And that one looks like a palm tree.

Danielle:  Oh look!  That one is shaped like a heart.

Trent:  It is!

Danielle:  Yeah

Right across the fence, Ray has no idea that Trent is entertaining his very first crush. He’s too busy watering his plants and pulling weeds.

Danielle:  Well… I’d better go.

Trent:  Yeah, me too.

As Trent and Danielle get up from the ground, his hand accidentally brushes across Danielle’s, sending tingles up his arm. He considers grabbing her hand for real, but his confidence just isn’t there yet.

Trent feels weird and a little unsteady… something he’s not very familiar with.  He sits down to get himself together.

Trent:  Thanks for hanging out with me.

Trent waves as he says it and immediately feels silly.  Why can’t he muster up the courage to give her a hug or something?

Danielle:  Yeah… it was fun.  Thanks for showing me something… different.

Trent hopes that different is a good thing as he watches her walk away.

Now that he’s had a successful meet-up with Danielle, he’s anxious to see her again… he just has to come up with something interesting for them to do.

Trent has an important question that he wants to ask his dad, but he’s not sure how to bring it up.  He sits outside and eats his lunch while he tries to think of ways to ask his dad about woohooing.  Finally, he gets the courage…

Trent:  Dad… I have a question.

Raymond:  Okay… what is it?

Trent:  How do you know when it’s the right time to…woohoo?

Raymond:  Woohoo? The right time?  I wasn’t expecting that question… so, who’s the girl?

Trent:  What?

Raymond:  I didn’t start asking my parents about woohoo until I started becoming interested in girls.  Do you have a girlfriend, son?

Trent:  No dad… just a friend.  Can you please just answer the question?

Raymond:  I should of had this talk with you a long time ago… you know the basics about woohooing, right? Like, what goes where and –

Trent:  *embarrassed* Yes dad!

Raymond:  Well you also know that you can get a girl pregnant… even if it’s your first time.  So the best time to start thinking about woohoo is when you’re in a committed relationship… preferably marriage.  There’s a lot involved son… and if you slip up and get somebody pregnant… you’re stuck with that person for the rest of your life. Is that what you wanted to know?

Trent:  Yeah

Raymond:  Any more questions?

Trent:  Not right now.

Raymond:  I’m glad you came to me son.

Ray leaves for work proud that his son trusted him to ask him such a sensitive question.  He just hopes that he gave his son enough information.

Mitzi arrives home from work and sits down with Greg and Kisha for dinner…

Kisha:  Mom!  I think Trent has a girlfriend.

Mitzi:  Why do you say that?

Kisha:  I saw him with some girl earlier when I was leaving the park!

Mitzi:  That doesn’t mean that he has a girlfriend Kisha.

Even as she says the words, Mitzi wonders if Kisha is right.  Has Trent already started dating?  Mitzi makes a mental note to ask Ray what he knows.

After everyone is asleep, Trent stays up to finish his homework and later watch the children’s channel on TV.  He also thinks about Danielle and what his dad told him.  He realizes that he has time to worry about woohoo later.  Right now he just enjoys Danielle’s company and wants to keep it at that for a while.
