Reminder: This is my very first Sims 4 family, which was originally posted back in 2015. I’m in the process of moving these posts over from my Tumblr page. See more info here!

Images of Danielle invades Trent’s dreams all night.  He’s surprised and a little embarrassed that he’d been dreaming about her when he wakes up and finds her sleeping in the corner of the tent.  She wakes up as he moves to unzip the door.  Danielle follows Trent out of the tent.

Danielle:  Um…I’m sorry about sharing your tent… I was too scared to sleep by myself out here.

Trent:  It’s okay… I guess I should have thought about that.

Before Trent has a chance to say more, he receives the first text from his mother…

Mitzi’s text:  Hurry back!  Your brother’s about to blow out his candles!

Trent:  *out loud to himself* Aw man…I forgot about Greg’s birthday.

Trent stares at the message for a long time…tempted to respond; knowing that his mother doesn’t deserve to be ignored and forced to worry.  Finally, he puts his phone away without texting her back.

Trent:  Has your mother texted you yet?

Danielle:  I don’t know…I turned my phone off.

Trent:  Aren’t you bothered that you’re causing her to worry?

Danielle:  She’d be worried whether I was there or not…at least now I’m free.

Danielle and Trent lie on the ground to watch the clouds…

Danielle:  Don’t you wish we could stay here forever?

Trent:  Sorta… but I’m sure they’d kick us out eventually.  And it’s a matter of time before they realize that we’re underage.

Danielle seems intent on ignoring reality…

Danielle:  Look, a bird-shaped cloud.

Danielle:  You know…when you first asked me to cloud watch…I thought it’d be stupid.  But now, I kind of like it.  It helps to calm me.

Trent:  Yeah…sort of like what painting does for me.  I wish I had my easel.

Danielle:  So, what are we going to eat?  Ugh…these bugs *swats away mosquitoes*

Trent:  Well…my dad taught me how to fish… we can do that. I also brought a little money that I made selling my paintings.  We can buy a few snacks from the ranger.

Danielle:  You thought of everything, didn’t you?

Trent:  Just to put it out there…I decided to come out here with you, because I really like you.  I couldn’t imagine you going away by yourself…it’s too dangerous.

Danielle:  I know…I guess that’s why I came to you.  I sort of knew you’d do this.  I knew you wouldn’t let me leave on my own.

Trent:  But Danielle…I can’t stay out here forever.  My family loves me and they don’t deserve to worry.

Danielle:  I know…I get that.  I just need a few days to plan and decide what to do next.  I appreciate you helping me!

Trent and Danielle begin to get hungry, so Trent shows her the fishing spot.

Danielle:  Oh my God Trent!  It’s gorgeous here!

Mitzi sits and tries to think of what to do next.  She’s not sure if it’s too early to call the police.  Would Trent even be considered missing if he’s only been gone a few hours?  After all, he could just be at the library; studying with his phone turned off.  Then again, it’s Trent she’s thinking of…he’d more likely go swimming at the gym or go off somewhere to take photographs.  Either way, that doesn’t equal missing.

Mitzi busies herself with some housework to try and keep her mind from wandering and worrying.

Mitzi passes Greg on the way to the kitchen and feels bad that she’s not able to give him the cheeriness that he deserves on his birthday.  All she can hope to do is attempt to make it up to him once Trent is back home safe.

Mitzi has the day off, but Ray is scheduled to work.  Mitzi is shocked that Ray hasn’t called in to take the day off…

Mitzi:  *not looking up from dishes* You’re still going to work?

Raymond:  Trent will show up Mitzi!  Me worrying when he’s probably just at a friend’s house binging on video games won’t pay the bills.

Mitzi hopes that Ray is right.  He also gave her an idea.  Mitzi pulls out her phone and calls everyone she knows; including the parents of a few of Trent’s friends.  If he’s not with any of them…at least they’d be able to tell her if they’ve seen him around.

Meanwhile, Greg is not too happy with Trent.  The more frantic phone calls he hears his mother make…the angrier he gets.

Kisha is also not very happy with Trent.  She’s mad that he might have run away without telling her; leaving her here to worry.

Mitzi walks up and down the neighborhood; even pausing in front of Danielle’s house…

Mitzi:  Hmmm, I wonder…

She knows that she may be on the right track when she receives a text back from one of her acquaintances

Text Message:  I believe I saw your son late yesterday standing outside by your house talking to some girl.

Mitzi knows that the girl was most likely Danielle.

Mitzi walks over to the back door of Danielle’s house to see if anyone is home.  When she sees a lady sitting on the couch, she decides to knock…

Danielle’s mom:  Who is it?

Mitzi:  My name’s Mitzi…I live next door.

Danielle’s mom:  Come in.

Mitzi walks in…

Danielle’s mom:   Hi…I’m Angelique. Please sit down.

Mitzi:  *after sitting* It’s nice to finally meet you!  I’ve met your daughter a few times.

Mitzi:  I stopped by to see if your daughter might know where my son is.

Angelique:  Good luck with that…she’s not here. I haven’t seen her all day.  I should have known when I saw your son sniffing around here the other day that this had something to do with a boy!

Mitzi:  Whoa… sniffing around?  You don’t have cause to talk about my son like he’s some sort of dog!

Angelique:  Yet…he’s led my daughter away.

Mitzi: Are you implying that my son is to blame?

Angelique:  I’m not just implying it…

Mitzi:  What! I’m sure your daughter had a lot to do with it!  My son had absolutely no reason to just go missing.

Angelique:  But, he is missing….

Mitzi:  Look lady… we can sit here and keep blaming each other’s children all night…but the fact of the matter is, they are both gone.  Are you going to help me find them or not?

Angelique:  I’ve already filed a missing person’s report.  I’ll call and update it, letting them know that your son may be with her.

Mitzi:  Okay, but if you call and make Trent sound like some sort of criminal or something…I’ll be back.

Angelique:  Is that supposed to be a threat?

Mitzi:  No…it’s a promise.  I’ll call you if I hear from Trent.

With that, Mitzi leaves the Gilbert residence and heads home.

When Mitzi returns home and sees Greg, she immediately feels bad, because she realizes that she forgot to give him his birthday present.

Mitzi:  I’m so sorry about all of this!

Gregory:  It’s okay, it’s not your fault.

Mitzi:  Here *shows Greg a new violin* … this is for you.  Happy Birthday…

Gregory lights up when he sees his brand new violin… the exact one that he wanted!
