Reminder: This is my very first Sims 4 family, which was originally posted back in 2015. I’m in the process of moving these posts over from my Tumblr page. See more info here!

When Trent was hired as a barista, he obviously didn’t notice that the hours were from 5 AM to 7AM…not PM.  Having to get up extra early to work before school is more than a punishment…it’s torture.

Kisha:  So, do you start work today?  Is that why you’re already up?  Where did you say you’ll be working again?

Trent:  Not right now Kisha…my ears are not quite awake yet.

Mitzi wakes up in another one of her gloomy moods, so Ray tries to cheer her up by making funny gummy bear pancakes.  It doesn’t quite work though…

Raymond:  You okay Mitz?

Mitzi:  We’re getting old Ray…and our kids are going to grow up and leave us.

Raymond:  Let’s hope they do!

Mitzi:  That’s not funny Ray!

Raymond:  It’s my birthday tomorrow, not yours…you don’t have to be depressed for another 8 days.

Raymond:  Come on Mitz…when we got married, didn’t we say that we wanted to grow old together?

Mitzi:  Yeah…I just didn’t think that it would happen so fast!

Raymond:  It did kind of happen fast didn’t it?

Mitzi: Yeah…you’ll be 50 years old tomorrow!

Raymond:  Fifty! *places head in hands* Don’t remind me!

Mitzi:  I’m sorry Ray…I didn’t mean-

Raymond:  I’m just kidding Mitz… I’m not the least bit depressed about turning 50!

Raymond:  *walks toward bedroom* There is one thing that’s annoying about getting older though…

Mitzi:  What?

Raymond:  Being tired all the time.  In fact, I think I’ll go take a nap.

Ray isn’t the only one in need of a nap.  Trent comes home from school and goes straight to bed.  If Ray’s goal, in making Trent get a job, was to keep him away from Danielle…then he succeeded big time!

Meanwhile, Mitzi receives an unexpected visitor…Danielle’s mother, Angelique.

Mitzi:  What are you doing here?

Angelique:  I admit it…I’m a terrible mother!

Mitzi:  Wait, what?  What’s going on?

Angelique:  I just wanted to come over and apologize to you…and thank your son for making sure my daughter came back home.

Mitzi:  What happened?

Angelique:  Danielle told me everything.  She said that it was all her idea…that she was going to run away and that your son went with her to keep her safe.

Mitzi:  That doesn’t make you a terrible mother.  We all makes mistakes.

Angelique:  Well…I’m a terrible person then.  I should never have accused your son of doing wrong by my daughter.  Danielle said that he was a perfect gentleman and that he was the only reason she came back.  You should be proud of him.

Mitzi:  I am and I appreciate your apology, but like I said…it was a mistake.  Just the fact that you came over here to apologize means a lot.

Angelique:  Thanks for that.

Mitzi:  You know Angelique…you actually remind me a lot of myself…going hard for your child.  That makes you a very good mother.

Angelique:  I appreciate that.

Mitzi:  Would you like to come in for a while and have some tea?

Angelique:  Uh…not right now.  I just wanted to get that off my chest.  I have to be at work soon.

Angelique:  So…uh…thank Trent for me.  I have to go.

Mitzi:  Okay…thanks for coming by.

Raymond:  Who was that at the door?

Mitzi:  Danielle’s mom.  She came to apologize and said that the whole running away thing was Danielle’s idea.

Raymond:  We had already figured that.

Mitzi:  Yeah, but it’s nice to have confirmation.  So – what are we doing for your birthday tomorrow?

Raymond:  *gets ready to leave for work*  Nothing.  I’m just happy to get a day off to rest.  See you tonight!

Mitzi:  Okay, love you!

Despite Ray’s insistence on doing nothing for his birthday, Mitzi cannot resist at least calling up Gladys and Quinn to come over and celebrate.  Mitzi hopes that Ray won’t mind…especially considering the fact that it’s Gladys’ birthday too.

Meanwhile, all Ray wishes for on his birthday is an early retirement.
