It’s another sad morning for Mitzi.  This time, rather than just dwelling on it, she decides to write her feelings in a letter to her children…

Dear Trent, Greg, and Kisha,

If you are reading this, then I am already gone.  I just want each and every one of you to know that it has been an absolute pleasure raising you and seeing you all grow up into successful adults.

Trent, I am incredibly proud of you!  You are a great husband and I know that you will be an even better father.  If I don’t get a chance to meet my grandchildren, please make sure they know who their grandmother and grandfather were.  Make sure that they know that they are loved and that they will always have us as their guardian angels watching over them.

Greg, I know things have been hard for you as a middle child at times.  I realize that you have often felt ignored and that you didn’t matter.  But I promise that you were always important and you always mattered.  I am proud of your academic achievements and brilliance.  I know that you will go far in life and I’m glad that you found a partner to share all of that with.

My baby girl Kisha, you have always been the strongest and I pray that you find additional strength to help your brothers get through this difficult time.  I see so much of myself in you.  I know you thought I’d worry when you told me that you had decided to become a cop, but I was actually very happy that you chose a career that highlights your strengths.  You are going to be an incredible officer and this community will only get better with you on the job to serve and protect.

Please do not see this as a goodbye.  Next time you feel lonely, know that your father and I will always be around within each of you. Whenever you’re feeling sad…think about one of the jokes that you remember hearing me tell.  Whenever you eat a great meal, think about your father and the love that he put into everything he prepared. Find comfort in knowing that your father and I are together again… true love reunited.  I love you all!

Love always from your mother,

Mitzi

Kisha chats with Angela and analyzes evidence while at work…

Angela:  So, Kisha…are you seeing anyone?

Kisha:  No…I don’t really have time.

Angela:  There’s always time for love!  You should let me hook you up with one of my guy friends.  I have a neighbor who is super good-looking.  I think you’d make a good couple.

Kisha:  Nah…I don’t think so.  Ironically…I’m usually the matchmaker.

Angela: Yeah, but the matchmakers are the ones who usually need the most help finding someone.  Come on!  You can at least meet him.

Kisha:  I’ll think about it.

After analyzing her evidence, Kisha can see that she has enough evidence to put out her APB.  She checks in with the chief before going out to make an arrest.

Kisha:  The suspect is a teenage girl in a short sleeve shirt.  She has blonde hair and is clumsy.

Chief Maldonado:  Sounds like you have what you need…go out and get her!

Kisha:  Yes, sir!

It doesn’t take long for Kisha to find her suspect after asking around at Founder’s Park.

Kisha brings the suspect into the interrogation room…

Kisha:  Now…we can do this the easy way, or we can do this the hard way…

Teenage suspect:  You don’t have nothing on me or you would’ve locked me up already!

Kisha:  *stands up and bangs fists on the table*  That’s where you’re wrong sweetheart!  *wildly throws papers* I have enough here to put you in the system until all your buddies have graduated and gone to college. *calms down and sits* Now…make it easy on yourself and just confess.

Teenage suspect:  *slightly afraid* You’re nucking futs!

Teenage suspect:  *claps hands* Bravo…you almost had me afraid there…but I know you have nothing on me like I said!

Kisha:  I wouldn’t be so sure.  *begins showing evidence*  Check this out…see these fingerprints, I’m sure that they match yours.  We can go on over to the booking station right now and see.  Oh and this… doesn’t that footprint look like it might match your shoes?  And let’s not forget this handprint that was left in the mud when someone fell out the window.  Strange…it looks like it’s about the size of your hand…doesn’t it?  *tsk tsk*  Too bad some of us are so clumsy.

Teenage suspect:  If your evidence is so solid…why haven’t you arrested me yet?

Kisha:  *pulls out handcuffs* Oh…that can be arranged!

Kisha can tell that the suspect is close to breaking, but Kisha’s shift is over and it’s time for her to go home.

Greg stops by for a visit soon after Kisha gets home from work.

Kisha:  Hey there Greg!  Wanna treat?

Gregory:  I don’t get it…is it trick candy or something?

Kisha: No, it’s-

A shrill cry outside interrupts Kisha’s explanation…

Kisha and Greg hurry outside in time to see Mitzi fall toward the ground.

Kisha and Gregory:  Momma!

Mitzi:  It’s okay babies…don’t cry!  It’s time for me to see your father!

It doesn’t take long before a small crowd gathers around Mitzi.  No one bothers calling an ambulance.  It’s obvious to everyone that Mitzi is already gone.

Mitzi’s soul is taken and her urn is left behind for Kisha to take and later place next to her father’s in the family tomb.

Greg leaves and Kisha reluctantly drags herself into the house, trying to mentally prepare herself to call her brother Trent and give him the news.

After her call to Trent, Kisha attempts to clean up the kitchen and get ready for bed but her hands are shaking with emotion…making everything twice as difficult.

Kisha:  Oh momma…why’d you have to leave us now?
