Reminder: This is my very first Sims 4 family, which was originally posted back in 2015. I’m in the process of moving these posts over from my Tumblr page. See more info here!

Kisha has gathered enough evidence to put out another APB.  This case leads her to Desert Bloom Park in Oasis Springs.

Kisha runs into Greg hoping that he’s seen the suspect she’s looking for…

Kisha:  Hey Greg! I’m looking for a young male suspect with blond hair, shorts, and a short sleeve shirt.

Gregory:  I haven’t seen anyone like that, but I’ve only been over by the picnic area with our niece Maria.

Kisha:  Maria’s here?

Gregory:  Yeah…I had the day off and Trent asked me to babysit.  Is this guy dangerous?

Kisha:  Not really, but I don’t like the idea of a suspected criminal hanging out at a park where there are children.

Gregory:  Me either!

Kisha goes and questions a few potential witnesses before locating her niece.

Kisha:  Hi Maria…I’m your auntie Kisha.  I haven’t seen you since you were a baby, so you probably don’t remember me very well.

Maria:  Cool!  You’re a cop!

Kisha:  Yep…and there’s a bad guy here at the park that I’m going to have to arrest.

Maria:  Can I watch?

Kisha:  No…I want you to stay over here at the playground so that you’ll be safe.  When I arrest this person…it might seem a little scary, but everything will be okay.

Maria:  Okay!

Kisha uses the information from the witnesses to locate her suspect.

Kisha:  Stay right there!  Don’t you dare move!

Kisha:  You’re coming with me!

Suspect:  Okay, just don’t make the cuffs too tight, please.

This suspect is tough, but Kisha eventually gets a confession out of him.

Kisha:  You did it…I know you did it…I have evidence that you did it…now you might as well admit that you did it!

Suspect:  Okay…I did it.

Kisha receives a call from Jeff; asking her to meet him at a new neighborhood bar in Willow Creek, called Patchy’s by the River (created by Maxis, slightly remodeled, and partially renamed by me).  This time, she agrees.  She sits and waits for Jeff to arrive.

Jeffrey:  Sorry it took me so long to get here.  I left right after practice was over.

Kisha:  That’s okay…I wasn’t waiting long.  So…why meet here, at a bar?

Jeffrey:  You’ll see…

Jeff leads Kisha to a small dining area within the bar.

Jeffrey:  I brought you here because they happen to serve some of the best roasted chicken you’ve ever had…guaranteed!

Kisha:  I don’t know about that…my dad was the best cook and best caterer in the city.

Jeffrey:  OK…well, this will be the second best chicken you’ve ever eaten then.

Kisha:  Either way, I’m sure it’ll be delicious!

Kisha and Jeff grab their plates and sit down.

Kisha:  So…how was practice today?

Jeffrey:  Intense as usual, but I can deal with it. What about life as a cop?

Kisha: Life as a cop! Ha, that’s funny.  It can also be intense, but just like you…I’m dealing with it.

Jeffrey:  I’m sure you are…you look like you can handle yourself.

Kisha:  What do you mean by that?

Jeffrey:  I just mean that it don’t look like you take any mess from anyone.  I mean…look how long it took to get you to agree to come out with me.

Kisha:  Yeah, but it wasn’t like that…I was just in a bad place in my life when I first met you.  I had just lost my mother and my brothers had moved out… I was having a hard time.

Jeffrey:  I’m sorry to hear that.

Kisha:  Thanks.  It’ll take more time, but I’m well on the road to recovery. Well…as much recovery as you can expect when you’ve experienced loss, you know?

Jeffrey:  Actually, I do.  My parents are no longer with me either…it’s part of the reason why I relocated to Oasis Springs.  I needed a new start.

Kisha:  I moved to Newcrest for the same reason.

Kisha feels relieved that there’s someone else who can relate to what she’s been going through.  Jeff and Kisha stop talking long enough to take a bite of their food.  It gives them a good excuse to change the subject.

Kisha:  Wow!  This really is good!

Jeffrey:  I told you!

Kisha:  And…I’m finally ready to admit it, you’ve put a smile on my face more than once.

Jeffrey:  Ha, ha…I knew it!  Sorry…I warned you that I was competitive.

Kisha:  That’s okay…it’s just nice to feel like I’m worth the challenge.

Jeffrey:  You are more than worth the challenge.  I knew that when you first showed up at my doorstep.

Kisha is speechless…all she can do is smile now.

After they finish eating, Kisha excuses herself to go to the ladies room.  When she returns, Jeff is sitting at the card table.

Jeffrey:  Do you play cards?

Kisha:  I’m not very good, but I’ll give it a shot.

After a few rounds…

Jeffrey:  I know you can’t beat me, so you might as well show me what you have!

Kisha:  No way!  Stop trying to cheat…I’m not showing you my cards!

Jeffrey:  There’s no possible way your hand beats mine.

Kisha:  You don’t know that!

Jeffrey:  Show me your cards!

Kisha:  *determined laugh* Nope!

Kisha:  I’d better go…

Jeffrey:  Already?  But we’re just getting started.

Kisha:  Well… we can continue next time.

Jeffrey:  So, I get a next time?

Kisha:  Yes… I think you’ve earned that.

Jeffrey:  Good, because I definitely want to see you again.

Rather than attempt a goodnight kiss, Jeff pulls Kisha into a hug.  Jeff holds Kisha close enough that she can almost feel his heart beating against her chest.  She feels warm, safe… and happy; like nothing could ever make her cry again.

Kisha suddenly feels reluctant to leave…her feet stuck in their place as if they’ve been super glued to the floor.  Jeff picks up on her reluctance and grabs her hand…

Jeffrey:  This doesn’t have to end right now, you know.

Kisha:  I know, but I really need to go.

Kisha’s words sound more like a question than a statement and despite saying it, she still doesn’t make much of an effort to leave.  Jeff tries to help her along…

Jeffrey: Okay…get home safe.  See you soon!

Kisha: Yeah…you too.

Kisha waves, but still hasn’t left.

Although he can sense Kisha’s reluctance to end the night, Jeff decides not to take advantage if it.  The last thing he wants is for her to do something that she’ll regret; making things awkward between them. He turns away and walks toward the bar. Kisha finally turns and leaves; feeling sure that Jeff is beginning to carve out a comfortable place to rest within her heart.
