The last elimination was rough on Jalisa. She takes some time to care for herself before her date with the Bunny. First, she takes a rose petal bath, which helps put her in a better mood. Then she spends some time psyching herself up in the mirror.
Jalisa meets Nate at the Old Brewery Nightclub located in Newcrest. He’s planned for them to spend the evening listening to some comedy and dancing the night away. It sounds like a good time to Jalisa. (Note: For this round of dates, I will be controlling the guys…not Jalisa)
Nate greets Jalisa with a hug, then they sit at the bar, where he orders Cupid Juice.
Bunny: I still haven’t gotten used to not being able to see you…but I’d bet my life that you’re looking beautiful tonight under that costume.
Voidcritter: I actually feel beautiful, so I’ll take that as a big compliment. Thank you!
Bunny: Have you ever been here before? This is supposed to be one of the hottest hangouts here in Newcrest.
Voidcritter: I’m ashamed to say I haven’t. I was too young to go before I left for college, and I really just got back here, so no…this is a first for me.
Bunny: Well, hopefully, I’ll get a chance to be the first to show you a lot of things.
Voidcritter: *blushes* Looking forward to it…
Bunny: The comedy show should be starting soon. Ready to go check it out?
Voidcritter: Sure!
They grab their drinks and head over to another part of the club.
They sit at one of the many empty tables.
Bunny: So, it’s just us…not a good sign. These comedians must suck.
Voidcritter: I don’t mind being alone with you. We can talk before the show starts.
Bunny: What should we talk about?
Voidcritter: So…tell me what your expectations are if we end up together after this competition.
Bunny: That’s a bit broad, but I think I know what you’re asking. If I win this whole thing…I look forward to building a life with you. I know you’re just starting your career, but eventually, I’d love to have some little bunnies running around.
Voidcritter: I’d definitely like to have kids one day. But how many bunnies are we talking about?
Bunny: I don’t know…maybe a boy and a girl if that’s how that cards end up.
Voidcritter: Two kids sounds very reasonable—
Comedian: *clears throat* Excuse me! Are you two going to talk through my whole set?
Bunny: Oh…sorry. We hadn’t realized that the show had started.
Comedian: It looks like it’s going to only be the two of you…so, is this your first date, or are you married?
Bunny: *enthusiastic* Third date actually…
Comedian: Dating…dating actually sucks. It’s like the world’s longest job interview, and at the end of it…you still don’t know if you got the job or not. You show the best side of yourself and end up waiting around to see if the guy will call you back…only to find out that he “hired” your best friend instead.
Voidcritter: *under her breath* Okaaay…
Bunny: *whispers* Yeah…she’s bumming me out.
The comedian goes on and on about her bad experiences with dating…
Comedian: And you know what! I don’t care that I’ll be alone forever. At least I have a cat that loves me no matter what…well sometimes, usually when I’m about to feed her, but that’s beside the point.
Bunny: I thought comedy was supposed to be funny.
Voidcritter: Yeah, this is a bit depressing…
Bunny: On three…we get up and run—
Voidcritter: We can’t—
Bunny: Yes, we can. One, two, three…
Nate and Jalisa get up and run out of the room in the middle of the set. They end up on the dance floor…
Voidcritter: *laughing, despite feeling bad* I can’t believe we just did that! That was so rude.
Bunny: I know, but I wasn’t about to let her ruin this date. Hey, do you know the one, two-step?
Voidcritter: Know it? I practically invented it.
Bunny: Oh, really? I have to see this…
Nate and Jalisa show off their best moves on the dance floor, capturing the attention of the crowd.
After the dance, Nate pulls Jalisa close…
Bunny: You mean so much to me. These dates with you are the highlight of my week.
Voidcritter: This was so much fun. You really cheered me up.
Bunny: I just want to kiss you…it’s the only thing I can think about.
For now…they have to settle for a hug. The date ends with a few goals unfulfilled, but they’ve reached the “sweethearts” level of their relationship.
(The Voidcritter) Nate showed me a good time. He can definitely dance…I like that. He doesn’t hold back on how he feels about me, either. I know I’ve said that before…but the chemistry has been there from the start. I’d be devastated if he didn’t make it to the next round.
