Jalisa meets Angus in front of the Bayside Entertainment Center in San Myshuno. He steps over to embrace her, but she rejects it.
Voidcritter: I’m sorry…I’m all sweaty and uncomfortable. Can we go inside?
Panda: Sure…no problem.
They take a seat inside…
Panda: So…this is my home.
Voidcritter: San Myshuno?
Panda: Yep…I’m a city boy…born and raised.
Voidcritter: Did you like growing up here?
Panda: Yeah, in a lot of ways. I like that there are enough people here that you never really feel lonely, but you can also disappear if you want to…you know when you need time to yourself.
Voidcritter: So, the best of both worlds?
Panda: Yeah, sorta. *hesitant pause* Uh…so, are we still okay?
Voidcritter: Of course…I just never took into account what back to back dates would do to me. It’s not your fault…I promise.
The lights change for the start of Moonlight Bowling…
Voidcritter: Oh…so pretty!
They both stand and walk over to one of the bowling lanes.
Panda: Are you ready to give this a shot?
Voidcritter: Sure…I’m excited.
Angus steps up to take the first turn bowling. He does well. He steps over to show Jalisa his victory dance.
Voidcritter: You’re hilarious! I hope you’re not some type of bowling champ…looking to embarrass me out here.
Panda: No…believe me, every pin I hit is pure luck.
Voidcritter: *steps up to bowl* Okay…my turn, just don’t laugh at my failed attempts.
Panda: Never…as long as you also don’t laugh at mine.
Voidcritter: Deal!
Jalisa rolls the ball but misses every pin.
Voidcritter: *mini tantrum* Darn it…I’m terrible at this.
Panda: But you look terrific trying…
Voidcritter: Aw, you’re the sweetest.
Angus steps up for another turn…
Angus rolls the ball but loses his balance because the fuzzy feet on his costume have zero traction. He falls flat on his back…
Panda: Watcher have mercy! My spine!
Voidcritter: Oh my…are you okay?
Angus attempts to get up but slips once again.
Bowler in next lane: Dude…you okay?
Panda: Yep…I’m okay. Nothing’s hurt, but my pride.
Jalisa goes over to help him the rest of the way up.
Panda: Thanks for not laughing at me…
Voidcritter: We made a deal, right? I was just worried that you’d be hurt.
Panda: I appreciate that. Oh…before I forget – I have something for you…to make up for our last date.
Angus hands Jalisa a pretty red rose.
Voidcritter: *sniffs it* Thanks so much. It’s beautiful.
Angus kisses Jalisa’s hands and manages to complete all of his date objectives and more. He and Jalisa are now sweethearts.
Bowler in now blocked lane: Do you two mind? I’m trying to bowl here!
(The Voidcritter) Angus’ date wasn’t as creative as Merlin’s, but I appreciated being inside rather than outside in the middle of a heatwave. I feel so bad for rejecting his embrace, but it had nothing to do with him. Maybe I should start spacing these dates out, so I’m in the right frame of mind for each of them. Even with a few mishaps…I had an incredible time with Angus. He’s sweet and considerate and just a lot of fun to be around. I hope to get a chance to spend a lot more time with him.
