Jalisa is happy to see Chef Green up early the next morning. She can use some advice…
Voidcritter: I’m beginning to think participating in this challenge is a mistake.
Chef Green: Why?
Voidcritter: It’s hard to say goodbye to a new guy every week. I’ve been spending a lot of time with each of them…and they are all so nice. Each and every one of them deserves to win this thing.
Chef Green: But that’s not what this is about, is it? It’s about finding your one true love…someone to spend the rest of your life with. That privilege can’t go to just anyone.
Voidcritter: You’re right, but why does it have to be so hard?
Chef Green: Any journey worth traveling is hard. Remember that. But it’ll all be worth it at the end.
Jalisa thinks about what the Chef has said and realizes that he’s right. This is about finding her future husband…which means making some hard decisions. She has to follow her heart…not her head.
Voidcritter: Thank you!
She’s now ready for her last two dates for this round…
It’s raining hard in Newcrest. Jalisa is glad to be meeting Miles in San Myshuno, where it’s cloudy, but not raining. They meet at Ranger Stanley Park. They both arrive happy and embrace each other in greeting.
Raccoon: I hope this place isn’t too childish for you.
Voidcritter: Nothing’s ever too childish. It looks like fun.
They walk over to the big statue at the entrance of the park…
Raccoon: This is Ranger Stanley…the Jackalope. He’s supposed to be like the mascot of Granite Falls. Have you been there?
Voidcritter: No…never. Have you?
Raccoon: We took a conservation trip there once when I was in college. It’s a beautiful place for camping, fishing or just observing animals.
Voidcritter: Sounds amazing.
Raccoon: I wish we were there now…sharing a tent, roasting marshmallows on an open fire. This is as close as I could get to it, though.
Voidcritter: *flirty* Sharing a tent, huh?
Raccoon: Not trying to be too forward, but that would be a dream come true.
They walk over to the amusement area of the park and try a game of horseshoes. Jalisa steps up first and gets very close to hitting her goal.
Voidcritter: I’m much better at this than bowling, apparently.
Raccoon: I could never get the hang of bowling either…so I avoid it at all costs. I’m more of a gamer.
Miles is not very good at horseshoes either.
Voidcritter: Maybe we should try out the arcade machines.
Raccoon: Sounds like a plan.
Miles and Jalisa play a few rounds at the Space Invaders arcade game, then move over to “Don’t Wake the Llama.” Miles has a definite competitive side to his personality. He’s thrilled when he beats her at both the arcade and table game.
Voidcritter: *after losing for the 2nd time* How to do keep your hand so steady? I’m impressed…you can be a surgeon.
Raccoon: A whole lot of practice, I guess. Would you like to take a walk?
Voidcritter: Sure…
They get up and walk towards the food court.
Raccoon: Are you hungry?
Voidcritter: No…Chef Green keeps me well-fed, but I feel a little bad about it because I’m never hungry during these dates.
Raccoon: That’s okay…there’s plenty of other things to do.
They sit down at a big fountain to talk…
Voidcritter: During our first solo date…you said that you entered this challenge because you wanted a family. But what happens if you don’t make it to the end?
Raccoon: I realize that it’ll probably take a miracle for me to win this thing now, but I’ve enjoyed my time here with you…and I’ve definitely learned something.
Voidcritter: What’s that?
Raccoon: That there are some lovely, sophisticated women out there…you’re one of them. And even if we don’t work out…there’s someone out there that’s perfect for me. I just can’t give up on searching for her.
Voidcritter: You are one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. I’m enjoying my time with you too, now…in the present, because it’s not over!
Raccoon: No…it isn’t. You’re right. Have you ever jumped in a fountain before?
Voidcritter: Now that…I’ve done, and it never gets old. Let’s do it!
Jalisa and Miles jump around in the fountain like two big kids until it’s time for the date to end. Miles doesn’t quite finish all of his date objectives, but they have a good time, and their relationship continues at the lovebirds level.
(The Voidcritter) I had so much fun with Miles. We had a few awkward moments here and there, but I’ve never laughed so much in my life! The highlight was playing in the fountain like two kids. I’m happy we had the chance to go on this date. I just wish we related to each other at more of a romantic level.
