Angus and Jalisa embrace each other at the Flying Cranes Tower restaurant, located at the top of a high rise in Uptown San Myshuno. For this round, Jalisa is in control, and her goal is to ask some of the more pressing questions to determine who’s the best guy for her. After they have been seated…

Voidcritter: This view is breathtaking…

Panda: I agree…I never fail to be impressed with this place.

Voidcritter: So, you’ve been here before? Should I be jealous?

Panda: Oh, I’ve never been here with a date…just for a few company dinners. *glances over the menu*

Voidcritter: So, I’m guessing you know your way around the menu a bit. Can you recommend anything?

Panda: Well, I don’t eat meat, so I usually stick with salad or the Bamboo Rolls. But a few of my co-workers swear by the Trout and Salmon.

Voidcritter: I didn’t realize you are vegetarian.

Panda: Yeah…I gave up meat a few years ago and haven’t looked back. You?

Voidcritter: I’ve been curious about the vegetarian lifestyle, but I haven’t pushed myself to fully commit to it.

Panda: It works differently for different people. I stopped eating meat all at once, but some people just replace one meal at a time or commit to eating vegetarian one or two days a week.

Voidcritter: So baby steps, then?

Panda: Nothing wrong with that…I approach most things in my life that way.

Voidcritter: Speaking of baby steps…are you interested in eventually having children of your own?

Panda: Absolutely…my whole goal in life is to have a big happy family. If I had to choose between having a family or working long hours and making more money…I’d choose family every time.

Voidcritter: That’s admirable.

The waiter walks over to take our order.

Marcus: My name is Marcus…and I’ll be your server. What can I get you this evening?

Angus orders a Glazed Heirloom Bamboo Roll, and Jalisa orders a Trout Meuniére. They finish it off with a Cupid Juice. After their orders have been placed, they return to their conversation.

Voidcritter: If we were married and had children…what type of values would you want to instill in our children?

Panda: There are so many things I could say, but what I feel is missing most in the world is kindness, basic human decency, and respect. If more people practiced those things, the world would truly be a better place.

Voidcritter: You’re right…and that’s what I like about you so much. You are considerate of other people, and you seem to always look for ways to be helpful.

Panda: Probably not the manliest way to be…

Voidcritter: Are you kidding me? I find it extremely manly and also very sexy. *blows Angus a kiss*

Angus blushes and pretends to catch it. Marcus, the waiter, returns with their food.

Voidcritter: This looks delicious. Thanks for the recommendation…

As evening approaches, the buildings around the city begin to light up giving, Angus and Jalisa a gorgeous backdrop in which to enjoy their meal. Jalisa takes the time to notice the little things about Angus as he eats. Not only is he very sophisticated when it comes to his meal choices, but he’s also very polite as he eats, which is next to impossible when trying to maneuver around a costume. (We won’t even ask how Jalisa is eating through her costume – lol) Jalisa really likes that about him. It’s time for more tough questions…

Voidcritter: How do you handle disagreements?

Panda: *takes a sip of his drink* Well, it’s probably no surprise that I don’t handle conflict very well. I’d rather avoid it at all costs.

Voidcritter: But as a married couple…we’d no doubt bump heads from time to time. Would you face it head-on…or just let it go until it builds up and you can’t take it anymore?

Panda: I’d listen. Most disagreements are a result of miscommunication. If we don’t see eye to eye about something…I’d listen to find out what’s upsetting you. And hopefully, set the stage where you’d be willing to listen to me as well.

Voidcritter: I can be unreasonable at times. I’m not afraid to admit that, and it’s better that you know that now.

Panda: We all can, right?

Voidcritter: How do you feel about marriage counseling? Would you be willing to go?

Panda: I’d do whatever it takes.

Jalisa likes Angus’ answers, but it’s feeling more like an objective job interview. She needs to know how Angus truly feels.

Voidcritter: Could you really see us being together?

Angus seems slightly caught off guard by the question, but he doesn’t hesitate with his answer…

Panda: I absolutely adore you. This time that we’ve spent together has been the happiest time of my life. You’ve brought a lot of joy to my world, Jalisa. So the question shouldn’t be if I can see us together…it’s really…could I see myself surviving apart from you? And the answer to that is no. You have changed me…permanently, and I want more than anything to see who I can ultimately become with a woman like you in my life…by my side, forever.

Angus’s words touch Jalisa deeply…more than anything he’s ever said to her.

It’s almost time for the date to end. Jalisa and Angus have had an incredible time together. So much so that Angus insists that they have some dessert. Jalisa is not one to turn down dessert, but she’s getting full, so she asks for a to-go bag for the rest of her food. Marcus returns. Angus orders Crystalized Coco Blocks. Jalisa is once again impressed by his choice, but she keeps it simple with a Sim City Cheesecake.

Panda: These last few eliminations almost broke me. I couldn’t sleep last night thinking that this could have all been over several times. I know you really cared about some of the guys that went home.

Voidcritter: I do. I care about them a lot, but this is about finding one person that fills my heart completely.

Panda: I’d like to be that person…more than anything.

Angus’ words make her heart leap. She’d love to return the sentiment because he very well could be the person to do that. But she feels so bad saying that she feels the same, knowing that she has two more dates just like this to complete. Thankfully, Angus seems to realize and understand that. She finishes up her dessert and excuses herself to take a quick trip to the restroom.

When Jalisa returns, Angus is standing near the table with a gift in his hand.

Panda: I wanted to bring you something to help express how I feel about you…but there’s nothing that’s been invented that truly could. So I figured I’d give you a more symbolic gift.

Voidcritter: *surprised* This is so sweet of you!

Jalisa opens the box and finds a future cube inside.

Panda: When I was still a boy…I truly believed in the magic of these things. Of course, now I know it’s just some useless novelty toy made to be used once or twice, then set aside to gather dust. But somehow, they still hold the wonder and hope that I felt as a child.  It won’t help me predict how this thing will turn out, but I do hope to be part of your future.

Voidcritter: You are truly amazing, Angus! Thank you so much.

Angus and Jalisa embrace, and the date ends.

~~~Jalisa’s Thoughts~~~
(The Voidcritter) The more I manage to peel back the layers of Angus’s personality, the more impressed I am. I’m beginning to see him for who he is…this incredibly loving and thoughtful guy that just oozes sophistication and sexiness. He can even be funny when he wants to be. Can I see myself spending the rest of my life with him? Yes…I actually can. I can see us growing as a couple and having that big happy family that he says he longs for.
