Jalisa never truly weighed the emotional cost of a challenge like this, but she can feel the full pressure of her next decision as she stands there in front of the last 3 guys. She bypasses saying anything that doesn’t need to be said…
Voidcritter: The order of my approach…will be the order of the next date, once again in reverse.
She steps over and gives the Knight a hug. Relieved to be the first…he squeezes her tight.
Voidcritter: Pack your bags, because we’ll be going on an overnight mini getaway to Granite Falls. Our date will be 2nd.
Knight: *whew* This is a dream come true…see you soon!
Angus turns to Merlin…
Panda: Congrats, Merlin!
Knight: Thanks, Angus.
The whole exchange shatters what remains of Jalisa’s broken heart.
Jalisa uses the excuse of watching Merlin leave to prolong the inevitable. She faces the final two guys…
Voidcritter: This is it for one of you…and I’m so sorry to have to say that.
Panda: It’s okay, Jalisa. I’m prepared to go if it’s me…
Jalisa appreciates Angus’s words. She walks over to Nate and just stands there, unable to speak…
Bunny: *anguished* It’s me, isn’t it? Is this it? Is it over?
Her mouth moves, but she can’t form her next words because she knows that either way…she’ll be letting someone down.
Jalisa pulls Nate in close and holds on to him as if her life depends on it…
Voidcritter: No…you’re moving on to the final two. Our date will start in a few hours. *despairing sigh* Which means… *turns to Angus*
Panda: I know, you don’t even have to say it…I knew this was coming eventually.
Voidcritter: I feel I owe it to you to say something…
Panda: It’ll be easier if you don’t. I’ll go ahead and remove my costume.
Voidcritter: I’m really sad to see you go, Angus. *gives him a hug*
Angus: It’s a miracle that I lasted this long. I never expected to.
Voidcritter: It’s not a miracle…we’ve had some amazing times together. You’re like one of my best friends.
Angus: And I hope we can remain friends.
Voidcritter: Exactly what I was about to say. Of course…I look forward to seeing you at the finale.
(The Voidcritter) Angus says that it’s a miracle that he made it to the final three. No…the true miracle is that I was able to get through this elimination without completely breaking down. Is it getting easier? No, but I realize that I’m now getting closer to finding the one love of my life. At least I hope so…then maybe all of this will be worth it.
