Snow Fun With Dad

It’s Winterfest. Merlin wakes up extra early to prepare a special breakfast for the family. When Jalisa sits down to eat and sees that Merlin has prepared bacon along with toast and eggs, it almost brings a tear to her eyes.  Of course, he doesn’t eat any bacon because he’s vegetarian. The triplets come down to join them at the table.

Melisa: Mommy, why do you have on your work clothes on Winterfest?

Jalisa: I have a video call with a client today. Don’t worry. It’ll be quick, and then I’ll be ready to help with some Winterfest decorating!

Jalisa finishes her food and heads upstairs to work, hoping to make it brief so she can enjoy her family.

Meanwhile, Merlin shuffles all the children outside to enjoy some snow play and avoid any distractions for Jalisa while she works. The triplets are excited to see the snow, although they’ve played in it before as toddlers…they don’t remember it, so it’s new to them.

Merlin: Hey Me-Me, look, there’s a polar bear over there.

Melisa: *looks away* Where?

Merlin: Right here!

Merlin smashes a snowball into Me-Me’s face.

Melisa: Why’d you do that, daddy?

Merlin: I’m sorry. Did I hurt you? I was just having some fun.

Suddenly Me-Me begins to laugh.

Melisa: It’s on now, daddy!

Melisa and Merlin: *simultaneous* Snowball fight!

Me-Me and Merlin take off running in opposite directions. Merlin picks up a snowball and pelts Me-Me directly in the face again.

Merlin: I’m so sorry, Me!

Me-Me gets him back when he’s distracted by Lia and Jay’s completed snow pal.

Jalin: We should name her.

Jamelia: We can name her after mommy!

Jalin: So her name is mommy?

Jamelia: Yep!

Everyone enjoys the snow for a bit longer until it starts to get too cold. Merlin arranges the triplets for a few snow day pictures before they all head inside.
