Mountain Adventure
The newlyweds head to the Yukimatsu neighborhood looking for a little snowy adventure.
Jalisa: We have to take a selfie first!
Merlin is anxious to try out the slopes, but he stops and smiles for a quick photo.
Merlin: *looking at the bunny slopes* Are you ready for this?
Jalisa: If we don’t go now, I won’t be.
Merlin takes that as her way of saying, let’s get it over with, so they hurry up the small hill to the top.
It doesn’t take long to discover that rented overly used snowboards are not the way to go. Merlin starts down the slope, but it’s not a smooth ride.
Jalisa has the same experience, but she didn’t expect anything less. She regrets her decision to try this once she’s about halfway down.
Merlin makes it to the bottom of the hill with no issue, but…
It couldn’t have gone any worse for Jalisa. Her feet suddenly come up from under her, and she ends up five feet in the air before she comes down…hard. It doesn’t stop there; she slides for another few feet before the friction of her back on the snow stops the momentum.
She lies there on her back for a while before she even attempts to get up. Merlin rushes over as soon as he sees her lying there.
Merlin: Oh my Watcher, babe! Are you okay?
Jalisa: I’m sore in a few places, but I think I’m okay.
Merlin pulls her into his arms.
Merlin: Aw babe, I’ll kiss it and make it better later.
Jalisa: I think maybe I should stick with safer pursuits.
Merlin thinks about her possibly being pregnant and agrees.
Merlin: Yeah, you probably should.
Jalisa: You can keep at it, though. I’ll go hang out with the mascot.
Merlin is happy to return to the slopes, but first, he needs to purchase better equipment. Jalisa walks over to Yamachan and takes a selfie. Yamachan teaches her some of their mountain moves.
Merlin purchases a new snowboard at one of the vending machines. Next to it, there’s another machine selling cute little toys that he wants to buy as a souvenir for their future baby. Merlin puts his money in, but nothing comes out. He gives the machine a big shake, but it fights back, bumping hard into his hip. He gives up but isn’t too happy about it.
Jalisa becomes bored with the mascot and checks the activity board for something better to do. Unfortunately, it’s a Monday, so there are no festivals scheduled. She’ll have to occupy herself as best she can until Merlin finishes snowboarding.
Merlin, meanwhile, is determined to make snowboarding his new hobby. He gives it another try but ends up wiping out at the bottom of the hill. That doesn’t stop him, though. It only makes him even more determined.
Jalisa’s newly found entertainment involves making a snow pal. She’s made them many times in her life, but this one feels like it might be her best yet.
After a few more tries on the bunny slopes, Merlin is ready to try his hand at the big slopes. He and Jalisa take one of the ski lifts up to the top of the hill. Jalisa intends to watch but is instantly afraid when she sees how high they are. She watches Merlin bravely approach the edge.
Jalisa: Don’t die, Merlin! Remember, I might be carrying your child!
Don’t die is the last thing Merlin wants to hear right before he makes his way down. But all is well as Merlin begins his descent.
Jalisa goes back down in the ski lift, hoping to meet him as he gets to the bottom. By the time she makes it out of the ski lift building, Merlin is lying flat on his back. She hurries over to make sure he’s okay.
