28 Blind Dates: After the Costumes (Part 8)

No Test Needed

Back at the cabin…Jalisa makes her way to the bathroom to be sick. Merlin stands there, concerned and helpless. He’d help hold her hair back, but it’s already pinned up.

Merin: You okay, babe?

Jalisa: Ugh… nausea.

Jalisa stands up and flushes the toilet.

Merlin: I’ll clean this up. Maybe you should go lie down for a while.

Lying down sounds good. Jalisa goes to the sink to run some water over her face and rinse out her mouth. She checks herself out in the mirror and notices a definite change in her physique.

Jalisa leaves the bathroom, and Merlin joins her moments later.

Merlin: *insists* It’s time for you to take that pregnancy test.

Jalisa: No need, look…

Jalisa shows Merlin her protruding belly. Merlin lets out a happy little chuckle.

Merlin: We did it!

Jalisa: Yeah, we did!

Merlin pulls Jalisa into his arms. He couldn’t be happier about the news of them expecting their first child. She couldn’t either.

Merlin wipes away a few tears of joy and releases her.

Merlin: Oh, Watcher! I almost can’t believe it. What can I do for you?

Jalisa: You can warm up lunch while I go pee.

Jalisa turns and heads back to the bathroom.

Merlin: I can definitely do that.

After Jalisa disappears behind the closed bathroom door, Merlin takes some time to absorb the news. They are going to be parents!

Merlin pulls out the leftover Onigiri rolls, but although there’s no fish in it…the exotic spices give Jalisa another bout of nausea.

Merlin: Maybe you’d do better with crackers and soda.

Jalisa pauses, allowing nausea to pass.

Jalisa: No, I think I’m okay.

Merlin: There has to be something I can do to help you through this.

Jalisa: *thinks about it* No, but I think I’d be much more comfortable at home.

Their return flight isn’t scheduled until late tomorrow night. But if Jalisa is ready to go home, Merlin is determined to make it happen, although there’s still a lot they haven’t seen or done here in Mt. Komorebi. Leaving early will give them a great excuse to return in the future.

Jalisa decides to take Merlin’s advice to lie down. Merlin, feeling incredibly flirty, tries to quickly clean the kitchen so he can join her. It’s the last night of their honeymoon, and he’d like to make the most of it. But by the time he makes his way up the ladder, Jalisa is already asleep.
