Justina: So, you’re about to gain a new family member. How fun!
Jalin: Yeah, Kai is okay. I’m happy for my sister.
Justina: Just okay?
Jalin: I don’t really know him very well.
Justina: Maybe you should take some time and get to know him.
Jalin: That would mean spending less time with you. And we leave tomorrow.
Justina: Oasis Springs isn’t that far away from San Myshuno.
Jalin: True, but it’s far enough that I won’t get to see you as much as I’d like.
Justina: We’ll have to make the most of the times we do see each other. That is if you’re willing to try a long-distance thing for a while.
Jalin: I’m willing to give it a try if you are.
Justina: I am. *pause* Can you excuse me for just a moment?
Jalin: As long as you don’t just disappear on me.
Justina: *smiles* I wouldn’t do that.
Justina begins walking towards the door, and Jay watches her until she disappears out of it. He met her out on the ski slopes. They started talking and hit off right away. They’ve seen a lot of each other during this trip, and they are not ready for it all to end. But, unfortunately, returning home means that they’d be almost an hour apart. They can only hope that the distance isn’t too much to thwart their chances of seeing where their relationship could go.

Me-Me and I move over to the couches, still reeling over the idea of us being married and building a life together. She seems to love the ring that Lia and I picked out. She’s been staring at it the whole time. Then, suddenly, she slides over closer to me.
Melisa: Penny for your thoughts?
Kai: *confused* What?
Melisa: It’s an old expression, a silly way to ask what you’re thinking.
Kai: Oh, I was thinking about how lucky I am to have met you.
I put my arm around her and pull her close.
Melisa: I’m the lucky one.
Kai: We have a wedding to plan.
Just saying the words reminds me of how big of a task it can be.
Melisa: We do.
Kai: Any thoughts on how it should be?
Melisa: I’m not sure – nothing too big, I guess. Maybe just something more intimate with only close friends and family.
Kai: My mom wants to help with the planning if that’s okay with you.
Melisa: That would be great. I’d appreciate the help. I’ve never really planned anything like this before.
Kai: Me either.
Merlin and Lia watch the newly engaged couple.
Merlin: So, what do you think of Kai and your sister being married?
Jamelia: I think they are perfect for each other.
Merlin: Yeah, I think you’re right. And he seems to fit right in with the family.
Jamelia: He’s already like a brother to me.
I order a round of drinks for everybody in the room. Jay’s friend comes over to join us.
Justina: Congrats! I wish you many happy years together.
Melisa: Thank you! I’m glad to meet you finally. I can’t believe Jay has been hiding you this whole time.
Justina: I guess we’ve both been reluctant and unsure of where things are heading. We’ve only just met, and our vacations end tomorrow.
Lia doesn’t have much of a love life to speak of herself, but she doesn’t see any reason why she shouldn’t help her siblings out with theirs. Now that one sibling is on her way to wedded bliss, she sees an opportunity to help the other.
Justina is standing off to the side. Lia walks over to join her. They both observe Jay and Jalisa talking for a while.
Jamelia: So, are you and Jay pretty close?
Justina: We’re still getting to know each other.
Jamelia: As with any sibling, Jay pisses me off as no one else could – but he’s a good guy, and he seems to really like you.
Justina: I like him, too.
Jamelia: Just don’t get too turned off if you see his junkie house.
Justina: *chuckles* He’s already warned me about it. He says he lives like a true bachelor – roommates and all.
Justina gives Lia the second drink she’s been holding the whole time.
Jamelia: Maybe you’re who he needs to inspire him to clean up some.
Justina: There are a few areas of my life that can use some cleaning too. Maybe we can inspire each other.
Lia isn’t sure if Justina is referring to something physical or if her words are just symbolic, but she doesn’t pry any further.
At the rental, Me-Me and I part from her parents and go upstairs. I’m just about to enter the room that Jay and I have been sharing when Me-Me stops me.
Melisa: Lia is helping us out with one more thing.
Kai: What’s that?
Melisa: She’s willing to switch beds with you.
That sounds great in theory, but there’s one problem.
Kai: Are you two trying to get me killed by your father?
Melisa: He won’t know. And what can he do – kick you out? We leave tomorrow anyway. Besides that, we’re engaged now and moving in together. Plus, we’re celebrating, right?
Kai: I don’t want to be disrespectful.
Melisa: We can cuddle…we don’t have to do anything.
The chance to sleep next to Me-Me is too good to pass up, so I make a detour to the room she and Lia have been sharing.
Kai: If I get in the bed with you – there’s no way we’re not doing anything.
We change into our pajamas, initially thinking that just cuddling might be a possibility. But as soon as we’re undressed, we know it isn’t.
So, on our last day of vacation, Me-Me and I finally get the alone time that we’ve been looking for this whole time. And just like our first time – it’s incredibly satisfying.
