I manage to quickly treat the bee hives and collect honey and wax before Dub becomes too tired and cranky to remain outside. But with the help of the gardener, this day didn’t turn out so bad after all. I managed to get most of my work done. I would have loved to have some time to work out, but that’s something I’ll have to work into my daily schedule later.

Me-Me arrives home just as Dub and I reenter the house.

Kai: *to Dub* There’s mommy! Let’s hope she had a perfect day.

Me-Me joins us upstairs as I change Dub into his pajamas and put him into his bed. Then I turn to her and greet her with a kiss.

Kai: Happy birthday, babe!

I ask her about work, and she tells me about some strange espionage situation that popped up suddenly. She also tells me that her boss was very pleased with how she handled it. Then she asks me about our day.

Kai:  It went fine. Dub seems to be afraid of the bunnies in the yard, but he did well, and with the gardener’s help, I got everything done.

Melisa: That’s good!

Kai:  I was thinking…I can call ma and have her come over and sit with Dub, then you and I can go out for your birthday.

Melisa: No, I’m too tired to go out. A quiet evening here at home is enough for me.

Kai: Well, I’m sure I can find something that’ll make it memorable. Take a bubble bath and relax…give me about an hour, and I’ll figure something out.

Melisa: Okay, that works for me.

Me-Me leaves the room, and I rack my brain for something that I can do to make her birthday fun. Cleaning is the first thing that comes to mind. No one wants to spend the evening in a dirty house.

Next, I clean myself up. Then I go downstairs to look for ingredients to make Me-Me a birthday cake. We have plenty of fruits and veggies, but I soon realize that I don’t have milk or flour. So I call for a delivery, hoping they’ll arrive before my hour is up.

During our first actual date, Me-Me and I attended a movie, even though we talked and got to know each other most of the way through it. So I think that maybe I’ll try and recreate that evening. But it’s nice outside, and it would be a shame not to enjoy it. I run off to the side of the house and put together a makeshift movie screen. I also set up some seating. It might be a fun way to celebrate. Luckily, the delivery arrives just as I’m finishing up.

I have no experience with baking. Unfortunately, since Me-Me had to work today, we didn’t get to attend our 2nd cooking class, so I’m pretty much on my own when making her a cake. But I do have one tool that I can use, and that’s the website that our cooking instructor showed us. So I find an easy honey cake recipe and hope for the best.

Me-Me comes downstairs just as I pull the finished product out of the oven. It looks good, but I have no idea how it tastes. We’ll find out soon enough. I put some candles on the cake, and Me-Me steps over to blow them out. Then she ages up into an adult.

I show her my little make-shift movie theatre outside. It puts a smile on her face, which I’m happy to see.

Melisa: This is sweet, Kaby!

Kai: Thanks. Let’s hope this cake is edible.

We both take a bite and find that it’s actually good. After a couple of bites, I finish mine and then sit down next to my beautiful wife to enjoy the rest of our evening.

The evening doesn’t end with the movie, though. Instead, Me-Me surprises me with a special request when we get upstairs and are ready for bed.

Melisa: Kai, I think I’m ready to try for another baby.

I’m a little surprised to hear her say that, especially because she just started back to work today. But her wish is my command.

Kai: Say less

We kiss, and things heat up quickly. We’re in bed before I know it, working on baby number 2.

Meanwhile, in Tartosa – Lia, the youngest of the triplets also ages up into an adult. She and Stefan have decided to use this opportunity to become a couple officially. They’ve even discussed moving in together, which would mean she’d be packing up her things in Brindleton Bay and moving here to Tartosa.

But, moving in is not the only thing Stefan wants to discuss.

Jamelia: This restaurant is perfect, Stef! I’d love to own something like this one day.

Stefan: Why something like it? You can own this one.

Jamelia: *confused* What are you talking about?

Stefan: I know the owner. He will be retiring soon. He plans to put this place up for sale, and he will give us the first chance to buy it.

Jamelia: Are you serious? Is – is he serious?

Stefan: We are both very serious. Tell me yes, amore mio, and it is ours.

Lia has so many thoughts and doubts rushing through her head. She can think of a hundred things that can go wrong with buying a restaurant with Stefan.

Jamelia: Oh my gawd. I – um-

But she can also come up with some things that can go right. Buying this restaurant can be the first time she’s jumped out on faith and bet on herself.

Jamelia: Yes! Let’s do it!

And that is how Lia and her boyfriend, Stefan, end up owning a restaurant.
