Me-Me and Jalisa pause for a few selfies after leaving the spa.
Melisa: *kissing her mom’s cheek* I love you, mom!
Jalisa: Love you too, Me-Me.
Jalisa: I’m going inside for a bath.
Melisa: But Lia will be here any minute.
Jalisa: I’ve waited all this time – I can wait a few more minutes.
Melisa: Okay, mom.
Just when Jalisa goes inside for her bath, Lia arrives.
Me-Me greets her sister with a big hug.
Melisa: Why have you been avoiding us? *looks down* Oh my Watcher, Lia! You’re pregnant. Why didn’t you tell anyone?
Lia avoids Me-Me’s question by changing the subject.
Jamelia: Where’s mom? Hasn’t she been stressing about me coming over?
Melisa: She has, but she wanted to bathe after we left the spa.
Jamelia: Can we go somewhere and talk in private?
Melisa: Yeah, sure. Let’s go outside.
Me-Me leads Lia outside with a big grin on her face. She’s going to be an auntie again! Unfortunately, Lia does not share her enthusiasm.
Outside –
Melisa: Is this why we haven’t heard from you? Have you been trying to keep this secret?
Jamelia: I haven’t said anything because I’m embarrassed.
Melisa: Of what?
Jamelia: The only thing worse than me being a mom is me being an old mom.
Melisa: I’m an old mom.
Jamelia: Me-Me, you know what I mean – an old mom just starting! I can’t believe I let this happen.
Me-Me does her best to reassure her sister.
Melisa: You’ll be fine – I promise everything will change once that baby is born.
Jamelia: I appreciate the optimism, but I don’t know if I’m cut out for this.
Melisa: You won’t be doing it alone. You have Stef, and you have me!
Just as Me-Me says that Lia receives a text-
Jamelia: *looks at phone* It’s Stef. He hasn’t left me alone for a moment since we found out.
Melisa: So he’s excited?
Jamelia: So much so that it’s almost sickening.
After Lia responds-
Melisa: If you didn’t want kids, how did this happen, Lia?
Jamelia: We got a little careless trying to comfort each other after we lost our dogs, Merlin and Lady.
Melisa: They died? I’m so sorry. I know how much you both loved them.
Jamelia: Yeah – we miss them so much. Losing dad right after didn’t help. Now this has happened. *sigh*
While Me-Me and Lia talk, Dray and Leslie play on the playground.
Drake: We should take some selfies so we’ll remember this forever.
Leslie: Okay!
Dray pulls out his phone.
Drake: First, a silly one – then a smiley one.
Jalisa finally comes out of the house, and Lia greets her.
Jamelia: Hi, mom!
Jalisa: Lia! I’m so happy to see you.
Jalisa takes a good look at Lia.
Jalisa: Is that -? Are you -?
Jamelia: Yeah, mom. I got caught up, and now I’m pregnant.
Jalisa: It’s a miracle!
Jalisa places her hands on Lia’s belly. Lia tells Jalisa everything she told Me-Me about losing the dogs and getting pregnant.
While Me-Me is spending time with her mom and Lia, I find Dray near the swing set practicing on his bike. Of course, I immediately feel guilty because I promised I’d help him learn to ride it once the weather improved. Unfortunately, I forgot, but he’s doing a good job alone.
Kai: That’s right, Dray. Keep your balance and try to gain speed; then, you’ll be ready to use the pedals.
He follows my instructions but still doesn’t seem confident enough to lift his feet off the ground.
After Jalisa, Me-Me, and Lia have caught up – Me-Me invites everyone inside for dinner.
Jamelia: This is the worst part of being pregnant. I’m always hungry now and can’t fit anything in my closet.
Jalisa: It’s all a part of the journey. You’ll be just fine.
Mase and Dub join us at the table. After we eat, Lia gives Dub a big hug.
Jamelia: You’re practically an adult now. Too bad this baby won’t come out all grown up.
After the hug, she turns her attention to Belle.
Jamelia: You’re the only type of baby I thought I’d ever have. We should have just adopted a puppy.
