Despite today being a day for celebration, the work on the farm never stops. My first task is caring for Cocoa Puffs, but a sudden stray kick from the cow leads to an entire bucket of spilled milk. It’s upsetting to lose so much of it, but Cocoa Puffs still deserves the treat I give her after the mishap.

After caring for the chickens, it’s time for Belle’s walk. But first, I pick her up for a hug. She’ll be aging up, too, before we know it.

Kai: Looks like we’ll be growing old together, sweet girl.

As we step outside, it begins to rain, which puts a damper on my plans for the party. Hosting something outdoors for once would have been nice, but the weather never seems to cooperate.

After a long walk with Belle, I shower and prepare the drinks and food for the party. Unfortunately, Me-Me is working late today and won’t make it to the party until a few hours after it begins, so it’s up to me to ensure everything is ready before our guests arrive.

Despite my morning misgivings about growing older, I’m feeling pretty good. I’m in great shape and plan to continue being as active as possible. So maybe becoming an elder won’t be so bad after all. I turn on some music and dance like no one’s watching.

It’s time to party, and the first to arrive is my Uncle Merit. Whenever I see him, I feel bad that although he and his family live next door, we only see them on special occasions. It just goes to show how busy life can be at times. We greet one another with a big hug.

Kai: I’m sorry I don’t come by enough to see you, Uncle M.

Merit: Nothing to feel sorry about. You run a farm and have three boys. It’s me that should be coming by to see you.

The Crews family arrives next. I’ve invited Mo, his wife Shay, and their daughters Perla and Mabel. I figured the boys could use some people their age to hang out with while we adults party. Besides that, I don’t think Perla and Dub have seen each other since the prom.

Perla: *to Dub* Hi

Wade: Hi. It’s good to see you.

Perla: Yeah, same

Wade: *reemphasizes* It’s really good to see you.

Perla: *chuckles* It’s really good to see you too.

Dub and Perla share an awkward hug.

Wade: *after the hug* I wanted to ask you something. I already mentioned it in a DM, but I wanted to ask again in person.

Perla: You mean – us possibly going out?

Wade: Yeah, I thought maybe we could –

Suddenly Mase is there, and Perla’s attention redirects to him.

Perla: Mase! Oh, my Watcher! I haven’t seen you in forever.

Mason: I know, right?

Perla: Where have you been hiding?

Mase will never admit that he purposely avoided her the last time she was over – the night she and Dub went to the prom together.

Mason: I’ve just been here and there

Perla: I’ve missed hanging out with you.

Mason: Really?

Out in the garage, Dray sees Perla’s little sister for the first time.

Drake: Who are you?

Mabel: I’m Mabel

Drake: You’re playing with my stuff.

Mabel: Is that okay?

Drake: Yeah, I guess so. Are you here to play with me?

Mabel: That depends

Drake: On what?

Mabel steps off of the gaming machine

Mabel: If you’re nice to me or if you’re going to continue being rude.

Drake: Oh

It’s about that time. I want to wait until Me-Me gets home from work, but it’s time to serve the food, and cake is a big part of that. So I decide to go ahead and blow out my candles. I approach the cake as everyone gathers and blow hard, but the candles don’t go out.

Maurice: You’re gonna have to blow harder than that old man.

Kai: I might be older in years, but not in ability.

I blow twice as hard, this time succeeding. Then I age up.

I’ve been around a long time, but it still seems time has passed too quickly. I don’t know what my elder years will bring me, but it won’t be retirement. I plan to continue working hard as long as I can.
