Peri is sitting on the couch talking to Merit and his family.
Prosperity: Terra reminds me so much of ma.
Terra: I do? I remind you of my gran?
Prosperity: You do. I just wish she had the chance to meet you.
Veronica: I wish both of your grandmothers had the chance to meet you.
Prosperity: Right! Your gran, Michelle, was one of the nicest people I’d ever met. Together, she and your gran, Alida, would have spoiled you rotten.
Merit: That’s for sure! Pop too.
Prosperity: Yeah
Moments later, Father Winter makes his appearance. He reloads the tree with more gifts before Terra promptly greets him.
Terra: You know, Father Winter, a girl can never have too many toys.
Father Winter: Have you been a good girl this year?
Terra: I’ve tried my best. Just, uh – don’t check under my bed.
Father Winter: *chuckles* Okay, I won’t. Check under the tree, and I think you’ll find something really special under there.
Terra: *excited* Thank you! I’ll leave you a good review online and like all your Simstagram posts.
Father Winter: *joyful laugh* I appreciate that.
We gather around the tree to see what Father Winter has brought us.
Melisa: *shocked* A gift for the baby?! How did he know?
While Father Winter’s new gifts have brought smiles to our faces, Father Winter sees someone who always brings a smile to his.
Father Winter: *to Prosperity* Oh hey! There you are.
Prosperity: Father Winter! Good to see you again.
Jamelia: *to Waddell* Father Winter is over there looking like he found what he wants for Winterfest.
Waddell: *unbothered* He can look if he doesn’t touch.
Lia and Me-Me take advantage of a quick moment to themselves.
Melisa: So, Stefan – what’s he like? And when do I get to meet him?
Jamelia: I don’t know. I’ll have to get back to Brindleton Bay soon. But he has me seriously thinking about returning and opening a restaurant in Tartosa. He happens to be a bartender.
Melisa: That’s incredible, Lia! You’d be so much closer. We could see each other all the time!
Jamelia: Not so fast Me-Me. I can’t just uproot my whole life for some guy I barely know.
Melisa: You said it yourself – opening a restaurant is your goal. It doesn’t sound like you’d be uprooting your life. You’ll just be moving closer to where you want to be. You’d just be opening it up in a different city than you originally planned. If things work out with Stefan, that would be a bonus.
Jamelia: Yeah, you’re right.
Father Winter says he has a special gift for me.
Father Winter: I’ve known your family for a long time, Kai. I still remember you as a toddler.
Kai: You do?
Father Winter: Yes, and you’ve become a fine man. This is for you!
I open the box, and I’m disappointed to see that the only thing in it is a future cube.
Kai: A child’s toy? I don’t get it. Am I on the naughty list this year?
Father Winter: On the contrary – the gift is symbolic. It’s just a reminder that you hold your future in your hands. Your past doesn’t matter. What your biological father did or didn’t do doesn’t matter. Your decisions are the key to how the rest of your life turns out.
Kai: Thank you!
I appreciate the gesture and show it by taking a quick selfie with Father Winter.
While I’m at it, I pull out my phone and snap a few more shots to commemorate this Winterfest.
I can see that Me-Me is practically asleep on her feet. So I tell her to go upstairs and get some rest while our guests begin to disperse and I finish the cleaning.
I put out the fire and think about all the advice I received today. It’s been a great Winterfest, and I’m more excited than ever to welcome our new baby whenever he or she decides to arrive. But now, I’m exhausted and ready to go upstairs to my wife.
