Ajay enjoys sleeping in, but as soon as he wakes up…he pops in the earbuds that his father gave him and takes off for a jog on the beach. He plans to purchase the lot today and begin to gather the things he’ll need to make it a home. The thought of that alone gives him extra energy.
If all goes to plan, Ajay hopes to move to the lot tomorrow…just as winter is ending and spring begins. These morning jogs will become a daily routine for him as the weather begins to warm up.
The weather is still cool, but Mina, Adwin and the twins go outside to enjoy some fresh air anyway. Adwin is scheduled to spend a few days in Windenburg next week, so he wants to spend as much time with the twins as he can.
He takes Marvel over to the slide and helps him get the hang of climbing and sliding down on his own.
Opus is feeling the music, but Bastet looks annoyed.
Marvel: Airplane daddy!
Adwin: Airplane? You want to play airplane?
Marvel: Yes! I fly! I fly!
Adwin: Okaaaay…here goes!
Adwin grabs Marv and swings him around the air. Marv spreads his arms out like a small plane.
Opus wants in on the action.
Opus: My turn! My turn!
Adwin lifts Opus up and swings him around to his back.
Adwin: Where’s Op? Oh no…I lost Opie!
Opus: *giggling* I here daddy…I right here!
Mina would love to hang out and play with Adwin and the twins, but she has a few chores to do first.
Ajay makes a New Year’s resolution to get fit. He wants to be in top shape as he begins his new life as a young adult. To keep on track with his plan, he heads over to his new lot to make sure everything is set up and ready for his move.
Adwin and the twins head inside as the temperature begins to drop along with the sun. Mina is still finishing up the laundry. She loves being eco-friendly, but sometimes hates the extra work involved.
There are only a few hours before it’s time for the New Year’s countdown. Mina finally finishes the laundry, then goes into the kitchen to prepare a special dinner – Butternut Gnocchi. She hopes no one notices the few mishaps that she tries to cover up as she cooks.
Ajay returns in time to enjoy some New Year’s entertainment on the TV. The rest of the family sits down to eat Mina’s Gnocchi. Everyone seems to like it and no one notices that it’s a vegetarian dish.
Ajay is standing in the kitchen when he notices that he hasn’t seen Hacker moving around for a while. He walks over to the cage and sees that his poor Hedgehog has finally passed away. Ajay can’t take yet another loss. He turns and heads upstairs to mourn alone in his bedroom.
It’s time for the New Year’s countdown. Opus is beyond tired, but it doesn’t stop Adwin from cheering and participating in the countdown.
Adwin: 5…4…3…2…1…Happy New Year!
Adwin and Mina share a quick kiss.
Adwin: Happy New Year babe!
Mina: Happy New Year to you too!
Adwin: Go ahead and get the twins ready for bed. I’ll clean up down here and join you in a moment.
Mina, Marv, and Op go upstairs. Adwin hurries with the cleaning hoping to make it upstairs in time to get some New Year’s woohoo…
…But that’s not about to happen. By the time Adwin makes it upstairs and gets undressed – Mina is fast asleep. No New Year’s woohoo for him tonight.
