With Ajay gone, Mina now gets to be the one greeted with snot and tears in the morning.
Opus: *crying* I want Ajay! Where is Ajay?
Mina gets up and walks over to her son…
Mina: I’m so sorry Opie. Ajay has moved out…but, guess what? He’s coming by to hang out with you later because it’s your birthday!
Opie is not 100% sure what birthday means, but it sure sounds exciting.

Mina picks Opie up and carries him down the stairs. It doesn’t take her long to discover why he’s up so early…
One smelly diaper change later…and he’s feeling a bit better.

Mina gives Opie a toy to occupy him, then begins preparing her healthy carob cake for him and Marv’s birthday.

Opus and Marvel aged up automatically before they had a chance to blow out their birthday candles.

Marvel (in yellow) aged up with the Social Butterfly child aspiration and the Outgoing trait. Opus has the Creativity child aspiration and the Goofball trait.
Opus is still unhappy that Ajay isn’t around, but is even more upset that their dad is out of town. Mina pulls the candles off their cake just as her phone rings.
Mina: *checking the caller ID* It’s your dad! *answers the call* Hey babe!

Adwin tells Mina to wish the twins a very happy birthday and discuss plans to continue the celebration when he’s back home. Mina is curious about how the new office set-up is going.
Mina: *on the phone* How’s work?
Adwin: A pain, but I’m getting through it. I’m hoping to wrap everything up as soon as possible so I can get back. How are things with the boys?
Mina: They miss you and wish you were here, but I think they’re looking forward to hanging out with Ajay later.
Adwin: Make sure you kick your feet up and relax while they’re gone.
Mina: Will do!
Adwin: I’m running late so I’d better go! Love you! Give the boys kisses for me.
Mina: I will…love you too! Hurry back, babe.
Adwin: Working on it!
Mina ends the call, then grabs a slice of birthday cake.

Ajay wakes up the next morning hoping that the rain doesn’t put too much of a damper on what he has planned for his little brothers today. He arrives at the house and knocks on the door.
It turns out that Mina isn’t too uptight about them spending the day out in the rain. She makes sure that they have on their rain gear and sends them on their way.
Opus (in green): Hi Ajay! What are we going to do today?
Adwin-Jamie: I was thinking about taking you both to Deadgrass Isle. I want to teach you how to fish.
Marvel: You mean catch real live fish?
Adwin-Jamie: Yep…that’s the plan.

Opus has a few reservations about being away from his mom for the first time.
Opus: I don’t know about this. Maybe we should just stay here with mommy!
Marvel: It’ll be okay. Ajay will take care of us…and I’ll take care of you too. Nothing to worry about!
Marv’s little pep talk works. Before too long, they arrive at Deadgrass Isle. Ajay takes them out on the docks where there are a couple of boats housed.
(Note: To avoid confusion…Opus usually has something green on and Marvel usually has on some yellow)

Marvel: Can we get on a boat?
Adwin-Jamie: Not right now…today the plan is to go fishing.
Opus: Then why show us the boats?
Adwin-Jamie: I didn’t bring you here to show you the boats. I brought you here to look at the ocean.
The twins quiet down to look at the ocean for a little while before Marv brings up the boats again.
Marvel: But wouldn’t we get a better view of the ocean from a boat?
Adwin-Jamie: *frustrated* No boats! Come on…let’s go fishing. *leads them away from the docks*
Marvel: *quietly to Opus* I still think we’d have more fun on a boat.

On their way to the fishing spot, Ajay turns to see the twins moping behind him. He tries to cheer them up with a gift.
Adwin-Jamie: Hey…I’ve got something for you!
Marvel: What is it! What is it?
Adwin-Jamie: *gives Marvel his gift first* This one is for you!
Marvel opens it up. It’s one of the ladybugs that Ajay caught while in Granite Falls. He gives Opus his box. Ajay has given him a Mantis.
Adwin-Jamie: You can keep them as a pet! You just have to feed them moist leaves and stuff.
Marvel isn’t too thrilled, but Opus likes his gift a lot.
Opus: Thanks Ajay!

The twins get a little more excited when they actually get to their fishing spot and start fishing. The rain continues to come down making it a little bit tougher to hold on to their poles, but they manage. Ajay is the first to actually catch something.

There isn’t a whole lot of talking going on because the twins are focussed on trying to catch something. Opus eventually catches a goldfish…but Marvel is the one who wins the day with an extra big catch. He even manages to reel it in on his own.

The boys are satisfied with their catch, so the quiet focus ends and the complaining begins.
Opus: I’m cold!
Marvel: I’m wet!
Opus and Marvel: *together* I’m hungry!
Adwin-Jamie: Okay…okay – let me reel this last one in, then we can go.
Ajay reels in his last catch which turns out to be a chest with nothing but a toy inside. They put the poles away and Ajay leads them away from the beach. He plans to take them to his lot to feed them before taking them back to Mina.

By the time they get to Ajay’s lot…the rain has stopped and they are able to remove their raincoats and boots. Ajay fires up the grill with sliced fruit because he knows that Mina has the boys on a meat-free diet. After enduring a bit more childish complaining, Ajay manages to get them seated so they can eat. But this just gives them more time to ask questions.
Marvel: Why do you live outside? Are you homeless?
Adwin-Jamie: No…I’m not homeless, this is my home. It’s no different than yours…I just live in a tent.
Opus: But that’s very different because you don’t have a TV.
Marvel: And you live in the rain.
Opus: And you don’t have any walls.
Marvel: Or a roof…
Opus: Or a –
Adwin-Jamie: Okay, okay… I get it! Yes, I live differently, but it’s still my home.
Ajay is more than ready to take these two back to their walls and roof and TV.

As soon as the twins have finished eating, Ajay takes them back to Mina…who meets them outside.
Mina: So how was it?
Opus: Wet and cold
Marvel: And Ajay lives outside.
Opus: With no TV!
Mina: Hey, don’t be rude! You two need to thank your brother!
Opus and Marvel: *unenthusiastic* Thank you.
Mina: *to Ajay* I’m so sorry. I hope they didn’t give you any trouble. I’ll talk to them about being rude.
Adwin-Jamie: It’s okay. It wasn’t a bad day. They both caught a fish and I showed them around Deadgrass Isle.
Mina: Nice! I bet they had more fun than they’ve let on.
Adwin-Jamie: Yeah…maybe.

Adwin-Jamie: I gave them gifts…some bugs that I caught while in Granite Falls. Don’t worry though…they’re contained. They can be their pets.
Mina: Oh…okay.
Adwin-Jamie: Well, I’d better go. See you later! *begins to walk back to his lot*
Mina: Thanks for spending time with them Ajay! I appreciate it.
Adwin-Jamie: No problem.
Ajay hurries back to his lot…happy to be back to having some peace and quiet.
