After giving it some serious thought all day, Adwin decides to text Carla after he returns from the office.
Adwin’s text: I’ve changed my mind. I wanna see the bluffs.
Carla returns his text right away.
Carla’s text: K…I’ll be there in a few. Bring swimwear!
Adwin is in awe once he and Carla arrive at the bluffs. He can see why Carla insisted on taking him there.
Adwin: This is amazing!
Carla: I know, right?
Adwin: I never knew that an overcast day could be so beautiful.
Carla: You were always the one taking me to the most beautiful scenic places.
Adwin: *reflective tone* Like the lighthouse… (link takes you to Tumblr)
Carla: Right…and I – uh…I wanted to return the favor.
Adwin: Well, you have, because this is the bomb!
Adwin turns to the stack of wood behind him.
Adwin: So…what’s all this for?
Carla: Bonfires!
Adwin: Oh…I’ve never been a part of a bonfire before. Let’s light it!
Adwin lights the wood.
Carla: You know it’s tradition to dance around the bonfire, right?
Adwin: Is it? Well, let’s not break tradition…
Adwin begins to dance around the fire. Carla joins him.
Adwin: *still dancing* So why’d you tell me to bring swimwear?
Carla: Oh…that’s the best part. Wait until you see it!
Adwin and Carla take off running like excited kids.
At the natural pool…
Adwin: *strips down to his swim trunks* Oh hell yes! I can definitely get with this!
Adwin climbs up on the diving platform and backflips into the pool.
Adwin lands deep in the water then swims back up. He sees Carla sitting on the side.
Adwin: Are you getting in?
Carla: Un uh…I’m not getting my hair wet in that nasty water!
Adwin: Then why do you have me up in here?
Carla: I don’t…you did that on your own.
Adwin: *swims over and climbs out the pool to sit next to Carla* I guess I did.
Adwin: Thanks for this. I’ve been a bit bummed out all day about not being home for Marv and Op’s birthday.
Carla: Did you get a chance to talk to them?
Adwin: No, but I spoke to Mina and we came up with a plan to celebrate when I get back. They’ve been hanging out with Ajay all day.
Carla: So, Ajay is a pretty good big brother then? Not a total recluse?
Adwin: He seems to get along pretty good with them…at least from what I’ve seen.
Carla: Good! Maybe there’s hope of us getting some grandkids from him one day.
Adwin: *chuckles* He’d have to find a woman for that. I’ve never even seen him look at one before.
Carla: Oh well! One can hope. *brief pause* Hey…you hungry?
Adwin: Starving
Carla: I know a great place to eat that’s not far from here.
Adwin: Cool! My treat
