Ajay meets his Uncle Talib at Talib and Mazeli’s apartment in San Myshuno a few hours later.
Adwin-Jamie: Thanks for agreeing to meet with me, Uncle Talib. This is very important.
Talib: Sure, but what is it about?
Ajay notices Talib’s neighbor hovering in the hallway. He’d rather not tell his uncle what’s going on with extra ears listening in.
Adwin-Jamie: Can we go inside? I’d rather tell you in private.
Talib: Yes…go on in and have a seat. I just need to grab the mail.

Talib and Mazeli’s son Kumar has aged up to a toddler and is busy cruising all around the living room. Talib catches him trying to sneak out the front door as he passes.
Talib: No, no Mar-Mar! Come back over here!
Talib walks over to Ajay while Kumar expresses how unhappy he is to be stopped by his father.
Talib: So nephew…what can I do for you?
Ajay tries to answer, but Kumar’s loud whining drowns him out.

Once Kumar calms down, Ajay tries again. He fills his Uncle on everything, including the claims that have been filed against him and the visit by the reporter.
Talib: I’m so sorry to hear that.
Adwin-Jamie: What can I do about it? I like where I live! I don’t want to be forced to leave!
Talib: Let me think a moment…*thinks to himself out loud* okay – so to have a legal residence…you must have running water, a septic system or a sanitary place to use the bathroom and a habitable dwelling.
Ajay responds even though Talib isn’t really talking to him.
Adwin-Jamie: I have running water and I live in my tent! Why wouldn’t that be habitable? And I use the bathroom at the public restrooms near my lot.

Talib smiles suddenly.
Talib: I think you might have a good argument if you have those things. There’s no law against using a public restroom. Now…you can’t legally live in a tent for more than two weeks, even on a private lot…but you might be able to get a long-term camping permit.
Adwin-Jamie: Okay…so let’s do that. Can you get me one?
Talib: I work in San Myshuno, so I don’t have jurisdiction in Brindleton Bay.
Adwin-Jamie: So you can’t help?
Talib: Wait…I think I can! I just remembered that there are a few council members over in Brindleton Bay that owe me a favor. I think I might be able to convince them to get you one. But this is still not a long-term solution.
This whole thing is feeling like an emotional roller coaster to Ajay. He has hope one minute, then he learns of another obstacle.
Adwin-Jamie: What’s a long-term solution then?
Talib: What’s the name of that reporter that wants to interview you?

While Talib is distracted, Kumar finds something to occupy himself.
Adwin-Jamie: *attempts to answer Talib’s question* Uh…something Cheung I think.
Talib: Wait…is it Gretchen Cheung?
Adwin-Jamie: Yeah…I think so.
Talib: She just so happens to be my neighbor!
Adwin-Jamie: So you know her?
Talib: Yes…and she’s a good person. She just might be your solution!
Adwin-Jamie: How so?
Talib: If she writes an article on you, it’ll help people understand why you’ve chosen to live the way you do. People dislike what they don’t understand. She can help you become less of a mystery and maybe more of an inspiration.
Adwin-Jamie: I don’t know…I’m not really comfortable with that.
Talib: Then you might as well try and find someplace else to live.
Talib’s words make it clear that Ajay doesn’t have much of a choice.
Adwin-Jamie: Okay…I’ll think about calling her up. *gets up from the couch* Thanks for your help, Uncle Talib.

Talib: No problem! I’m glad to help.
Ajay walks past Kumar who is still throwing flour and chocolate syrup all over the floor.
Adwin-Jamie: Is he supposed to be doing that?!
Talib was so busy thinking of a solution to Ajay’s problem that he did not notice Kumar until now.
Talib: Kumar! That’s a big no-no! Your mom is going to kill me!

Ajay returns home feeling only a little bit better. He’s glad to have his uncle helping him, but there are still a lot of uncertainties surrounding his situation. And the thought of being interviewed by a reporter makes Ajay so anxious that he almost finds it hard to eat.

Ajay finds it hard to relax enough to go to bed. He decides to sit and try to meditate to clear the disquietude from his thoughts.
